PokerStars Game #9151542022: Tournament #46507852, $11.00+$0.50 Hold'em No Limit - Match Round I, Level I (10/20) - 2007/03/29 - 17:22:21 (ET) Table '46507852 1' 2-max Seat #1 is the button Seat 1: villain (1500 in chips) Seat 2: HERO (1500 in chips) villain: posts small blind 10 HERO: posts big blind 20 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to HERO [Jd Jh] villain: calls 10 HERO: raises 40 to 60 villain: calls 40 *** FLOP *** [Ac Ah 2s] HERO: bets 90 villain: calls 90 *** TURN *** [Ac Ah 2s] [7h] HERO: bets 160 villain: calls 160 *** RIVER *** [Ac Ah 2s 7h] [6s] HERO: checks villain: bets 240 HERO: ???? Should I not raise out of position here when I have absolutely no read on what kind of player my opp is? Did I play this hand sufficiently, or could I have minimized my losses more effectiely? I called; villain had A4. In the future I think even when having hands like AA and KK dealt to you on the 1st hand of the game that it is wise to keep the pot small. You are not able to manipulate the pot off the big blind well, and you do not know what kind of player you are facing. What do you guys think? |

Re: HUNLTRN - 1st Hand JJ; No read on opponent
I think you have to call that river.
And I like getting big hands on the first hand because you can bet a little stronger sometimes and be called down lighter. People seem to talk themselves into big pots on the first hand to "get information." If you've got JJ you're looking pretty good there. |
