Re: Cashout then lose myth...believers?
I highly doubt the cashout curse exists, because it's an incredibly stupid way to rig a site. Why would you rig it to have a losing streak start with something so obvious as a cashout?

I think there's no question it's true. The real question is, HOW true. ???

Re: Cashout then lose myth...believers?
When do people cash out? It's when they are running well. Often these players don't appreciate just how lucky they have been... they simply think they are god's gift to poker.
In other words, players who are cashing out are particularly likely to be just about to do substantially worse than they have been doing recently. When it happens, these players look for some kind of explanation, because obviously it can't be random... someone must be trying to screw them. Someone is cheating them. And the only event they can think of that occurred recently is the cashout. Mix in the huge variance and the inevitable downswings that happen all the time, and you have a recipe for a secret "doom switch" that gets thrown by the site to spite you for taking your money. Any reasonably intelligent person recognizes what a terrible business model this would be for a site. If anything, they would throw a "break-even" switch where everyone just treads water and nobody ever loses, while they slowly suck the rake out of the game. good luck. eric |

Re: Cashout then lose myth...believers?
after running hot, it's only inevitable to have a balancing cooler. People just so happen to cashout after running hot and before the cooler.
