Default $3.40: when a raise is what % of my stack is it better just to push?

Blinds: t100/t200

5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: t1693
CO: t5600
Button: t2780
SB: t2790
BB: t2137

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

should i call here? should i have just gone all in here preflop and tried to pick up the blinds? if not, is my 3bb bet amount correct? when a raise is what % of my stack is it better just to push? thanks for any help

push, rule of thumb is less than 10 BBs, it's a push never a raise.

yes, go all in preflop. in a situation where you do not have enough money to comfortably bet after the flop, and you intent to get all in with your hand, generally shoving preflop will be better (often around 10bb or less, more depending). as played all in on the flop.

just to add, i dont mind raising AA or KK instead of pushing preflop to get more value, but any other hand I raise I think I push.

I shove preflop, easy call on the flop. I too start shoving between 8-12bbs. Towards the higher end of this range, I tend to shove oop.

Usually, but it depends. Often times heads up I limp/check or shove. When you get into the 8-12bbs, after a standard raise, flops get kinda hard to play unless you started out with a big made hand.
