Default 12 buy-in down swing, Typical???

What are some average downswings for u guys. A 12 buyin downswing has really messed with me. Is this typical. I have experienced some massive swings before nut never this bad. Especially that it happened in a 24 hour period. All input appreciated.

ps.,. to liven up the thread, heres a joke,

two homeless guys are walking down the railroad tracks, one says to the other, hey what did you do last night, "well I bummed enoiugh change to buy some big macs and some fortys, I got drunk and looked at the stars, It was great, What did you do last night", "well, You would not believe this %^&*, I found this girl, tied up beside the railroad tracks, so Of Course, I untied her, and we had sex every way which possible," Well, the other bum asks, did she give you head???", "nah", says the other bum, "I never found her head"

not typical, but I've had them

I think a lot more of these downswings will happen this year due to the changing nature of the opponent base/fish pool

I've had four 8 buyin downswings this year, but I'm still up on the year.

I've managed a -15, and two -10s. I had a $1900 loss on Monday. They all stung like hell.

I have still run at 3ptbb over that time. All I can advise is that you review hands in detail when you are losing. When you go on an upswing you will feel silly about the AK tilt pushes you made, and big ill considered bluffs you ran.
You will be able to see that the wrong end of set over set etc is just part of the game.

Good luck at the tables.

Welcome to the "New" world of online poker. Big downswings are now standard fare.

I am no stranger to variance, but yeah, this stung, compounded by, $%%$%^^, must change up game, %^&&^%&*, anywho, how often should i expect swings in this magnitude, theoretically if im playing optimally. I'm a sad engineer to not compute this myself.

And in reference to the state of games nowadays, I've actually noticed little difference to the experienced vs donk ratio. The regulars are definately getting better, but they're easy to identify, and there is no relenting on the number of idiots playing, at least at .50/1 and 1/2 at pstars.

I was playing last night, and I was playing with the same 4 people on 4 different tables. A really bad, bad sign.
