Default 200NL - AJ, re-raised pot, AKJ flop

I think this hand made me realise that 3-betting oop with AJ is bad.

Cryptologic
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $1/$2

Stack sizes:
UTG: $163.50
UTG+1: $88.75
CO: $205.75

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
3 folds, Button raises to $8, Hero raises to $28, BB folds, Button calls.

Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($58, 2 players)

What's your plan?

Reads? What's his range for calling 3-bets in position? What does he perceive your range is for 3-betting out of the blinds? Does this player make moves at all? Is he aggro in general or passive?

I would lead for sure, lots of scare cards can come. I would lead for about $45 or $50.

Good question. I didn't bother to mention vilain's stats because I had not play that much against him and I didn't think it would matter much in a spot like this one ... I guess I was wrong.

Vilain was 24/16/1.5 over a little less than 100 hands.

unless he's prone to make moves / is over aggro I think I'd bet/fold $40

I lean towards bet/folding the flop - if he smooth calls and checks behind on the turn I might call the river if I think he vbets AQ.

If he checks behind on turn we're value betting the river
