Default Full Tilt Hand Histories Not Writing To My Hard Drive! Please Help

Since I got a new PC I cannot get Full Tilt Hand Histories to write to my hard drive. There is nothing in my Full Tilt folder. I have Norton installed on the new PC so it could be something to do with that but I cannot figure out what to do with the firewall to get it going. Anyone help?

Just to make sure, you are logged in and you have the box checked and the correct directory selected in Options/Hand History, right?

I'm really confused why more people are not having this problem. I'm guessing your new computer came with vista right? Vista is not going to be your friend in terms of playing on full tilt. Anyway, back to your problem, FT won't write your hand histories to the hard drive unless it thinks it has administrator rights. For some reason Vista doesn't automatically give programs this right. You need to right click on the program and go to "run as administrator". Also instead of doing that each time you can just go to properties after right clicking, then go to compatibility, and going to the bottom and clicking the box 'Run this program as administrator. That will allow ft to write to the hard drive. You should probably run all poker related software this way for the time being.

Now I have even worse news for you. The newest FT update, with resizable tables, seems to have major issues with aero windows for some reason. I think with a little messing around I can just turn off aero and it will work, but for the time being you can sit down at a table but as soon as you do, or very shorty afterward, windows loses track of the window, so you can't keep it as the active window, and therefore can't click on buttons to raise, call, even post the blind. It might be hard to explain what's going on, but you'll know what I mean if it starts happening.

I hope the first part helps with the hand histories, it took me a long time to figure out.

Thanks for the headsup brooksmd. Another reason not to upgrade to Vista. I'll add it to the list.

I personally see this as much of FullTilt's problem as Vistas. I'm sure they could have gotten a copy of Vista to have been working on a software release for Vista. The hand history problem is Vista just being super conservative in terms of hackers and viruses, etc. The loss of window control is all FullTilt's problem for not having a Vista release yet.

This got me thinking about how to solve the problem of the window control. If you turn off the vista aero windows, then it seems to fix the problem. At least so far that has worked. To turn off vista aero:

right click on the desktop
go to personalize
go to window color and appearance
go to the link and the bottom
then pick windows vista basic as your color/style theme

That at least fixed everything for me. Let me know if you have any other issues with Vista in combination with FullTilt
