Before Nash showed up, Amare was a 21 year old who was scoring 21 ppg. What's so special that he increased his scoring when he turned 22?

The 03-04 Suns were a team with a lot of young talent but a lot of problems. A coaching change and injuries to Amare were chief among them. Note that Amare missed 29 games in 03-04. In those games, the Suns were 7-22 (.241); with him, they were 22-31 (.400). Also, in the games with Marbury and Amare, they were 8-10 (.444). The year before they were 44-38 and actually made the playoffs. So don't try to act like a team or Marbury, Marion, and Amare couldn't win 30 games. They were roughly a .500 team.

Nash, of course, was an improvement over Marbury. But you have to look so much deeper than records over two years.

My argument is pretty simple you are giving me even money that a player will perform close to two standard deviations from his average. That is massively +EV.
