Help me play KK pre flop please
I play 2/4 nl 6 max
Last few days i have been haemorrhaging buy-ins in this situation. Its happened about 10 times. I 2 bet with KK.Later position or blinds 3 bet between $50 - $60.I shove. They flip AA. Am I supposed to go broke here every time?Should I 4 bet and fold to a shove?I know its player specific, but most people 3 bet 99, AJ in position,or from the blinds if they put you on a button raise. I know this may seem like a retarded question but @ $1/2 , shoving pf with KK was very profitable. But ive never played in games where pre flop calling ranges are so narrow,so i am a bit stuck. thanks |

Re: Help me play KK pre flop please
If you're playing in the normal 6max games (FTP, Stars) folding KK preflop is basically never, ever a good decesion and getting all the money in is spectacular.
You've simply been getting unlucky running into AA, in reality this is extremely unlikely (especially w/ all the 3betting going on now). If anything as you move up your all-in preflop range should expand due to the aggressive nature of the games. |

Re: Help me play KK pre flop please
Fwiw, I am a lot happier getting my money in preflop w KK at 2/4nl than i used to be at 1/2. I will never fold KK preflop to a shove for 100BB or less, and im willing to get it in much deeper depending on the opponent. The 3bet and 4bet shoving ranges are so much wider in general at 2/4 as opposed to 1/2.
I cant remember where i read this on 2+2, but a regular poster said something along the lines of "never folding KK preflop for 1 buyin will at worst be a small leak, whereas folding KK can at worst be a huge leak". that sums it up pretty well imo. Chalk it up to variance and move on. |
