Any Heard of Joe Average Poker?
It is on 657 on Directv. They said I can't get it since it is exclusive to people in Ohio.
I have family in Ohio so I may try to get someone to record a couple episodes for me. I am guessing it is a donkfest. |

Re: Any Heard of Joe Average Poker?
Its a very light-minded show. Nothing compared to the original "The Circuit" or "Rounders: The Poker Show". But they do get to interview the poker "celebs". The bigger ones and the smaller ones. They have archives as do the other 2 shows I've mentioned in Podcast form @ their website .

Re: Any Heard of Joe Average Poker?
Oh so it is not even poker events but a poker talk show? I have seen it listed on Directv for a few weeks and assumed it was some sort of cash game or tournament.
Thanks for the info. I wonder what happened to Inside Poker? That was a decent 30 minute show on Fox Sports Net but seems to have gone bye bye. |

[/ QUOTE ] That must be that TV show that they have spoke of on the radio show several times that is in your Cable/Satellite system. -"Rounders: The Poker Show" (archives can be found here ) is another radio show based out of Vancouver, Canada that is actually quite good. Also gets the named "pros" for interviews but it is just more on the "level" than the "Joe Average" show. Joe Average is exactly what this show is for the "average joe" poker player. I listen to all of em (even phil gordon's @ espn) b/c I am a sicko. LOL |

Re: Any Heard of Joe Average Poker?
Its not really worth your while. Cleveland has charity poker weekends put on by one of the Jacobs brothers as an attempt to temper attitudes about poker in the future if casinos become legal. Included in the weekends are low-stakes tournaments, maybe $100 or $200 events for roughly 50-100 people. 657 on Directv is a channel called Sportstime (or Sportsline?) Ohio, which is basically the Indians television channel and some other local crap (like Joe Average Poker, for example). Production is bad, blinds at the final table (they only show the final table) are high relative to stacks, and the announcers make VVP sound enjoyable. Also, its Clevelanders (yes I'm one too), so the players aren't easy on the eyes. It reminds me of the poker equivalent of "Bowling for Dollars"-type shows from the 70's.
