Default Question about withdrawing money

Going to vegas April 21-26 playing 2,000 worth of tournments event #1,2,3 of the WSOP and hopefully 1000 or 1500 in cash games. I bank with Wachovia and there is no Wachovia in Vegas. I don't want to travel with 4k (Even though its petty for Vegas not for me). And I can not pay my entry fee by debit card right? So what are my options?

1) $4,000 is 40 little pieces of paper. Stick them in your pocket.

2) Get a cashier check (could be a fee) from your bank, stick that in your pocket, cash it at the casino, and stick the 40 little pieces of paper they give you in your pocket.

3) Arrange with the casino and your bank to send a wire (could be a fee) for 4k to the cage. Casino might not want to mess with such a small amount.

4) Go to a bank in Las Vegas. Have your bank send that bank a wire (could be a fee, probably have to wait 24 hours). Stick the 40 pieces of paper that bank gives you when they get the wire in your pocket, and take it to the casino.

5) Buy some American Express Traveler checks from your bank (could be a fee). Stick that piece of paper .... (see cashier check above).

6) Arrange a credit line with the casino ahead of time. Write the casino a 4k check when you are done.

7) Arrange with your bank for a 4k credit limit on your debit card. Go to a casino ATM (pay large fees) and stick the 40 pieces of paper the ATM machine dispenses into your pocket.

You could ask for it in 50s if you wanted, I suppose.

That's not what CC0 said. What he said, sorta, was it's just not worth the bother or expense for $4K to do anything else. $4K is standard walkin' around poker money--it's four $1K NL2/5 buyins. Figure out some way to carry 40 bills that you're comfy with, whether it be split among four pockets and two socks, in a moneybelt, or just wrapped with a rubber band in a front pocket.

This is why $1k travelers' cheques were invented. Go to AAA and get four of them for free (if you're a member), or pay your bank some fee. Cash them as needed, and keep the rest in the hotel safe.

See option #5 of my post (sometimes this is a free service with your bank also, with the right account).
