I think it's funny how some people will see a small sample of a poker players hands and make assumptions/conclusions about this person. Had one of your favorite players been in his seat, for example, you probably would say "but he had a straight draw! and a flush draw! and a pair of 6's!"

I guess what we should all learn from this episode, and from Chino, is that good players never draw out, and only bad players do. See Phil Ivey and Doyle Brunson? They never draw out. They ALWAYS make the right play.

I'm pretty sure that if you examine the entirety of the episodes of High Stakes Poker you'll see that DN is not, on balance, a luckbox. He has certainly made some bad river calls (particularly in the 2nd season) but I think he's probably learned to do something right to earn him the success he's had.

DN ran incredibly below the mean in terms of variance. Did you see how many horrible beats he ran into? Out of all the games, he single handedly had the worst lucky.

If any of you reading this or who have posted have made bad calls because of tilt analyze why you were on tilt in the first place, usually it is because of bad beats, which he suffered continuously in HSP.
