Default $11 stars 45 man Turbo. Pointers needed

Last 2 tournaments I've played have been the $11 45 man turbos on stars which pay down to 7th. Both times i've ended up coming 8th.

Thing is i'm in it to win it and not scrape in the money. So i need some pointers on how to approach turbos. With these last 2 i decided the best way to play is the same as a normal MTT but push my starting hands harder and play a wider range in position. Is this correct or because of the quick levels should i be getting in with a bigger range of hands etc from all positions. I do gear up with the level changes as well.

Also one thing i've found is towards the bubble when i'm in late position there is nearly always an all in from early or mid position.

any advice much appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem in the cheaper 45 turbos. I'll get to the final table with an average stack, but the blinds are huge and almost everyone at the table is effectively in the red zone. I'm looking to be first in on pretty much any two cards but unless I'm in a very early position there's almost always someone going all-in before me.

Not really adding anything to your post, but adding my pre-emptive appreciation of advice.

Um, its a crap shoot, but you need to swing the odds in your favour.

If you have 10 6 off, and 4 bb, and no one is in the pot yet, you shove.

If someone else has gone all in, you usually shove (to isolate, and take the pot HU with some dead blind money), or, (fold, because your cards suck)

Also, particularly when in the bb, and someone shoves, ALWAYS check what odds you are getting. There may be a shove, and you might be getting 4-1 on the money to call, so you happily call with xx

Folded to you in sb, or button, just shove any 2

Just these little hints from HOH have salvaged my crippled arsse on a number of occasions!

Hope they help

purple might not be the new pink (or whatever they say) but early position is the new late position (at least in turbos)

good advice on the BB, always check your odds
