[ QUOTE ] This, or something related to it, could be the reason...perhaps NT is concerned about the ease with which Americans may try to become 'virtual Canadians' to circumvent the US-ban (many have already gone this route, no doubt). [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this speculation. [/ QUOTE ] And we get [censored] in the process. God Bless America. |

Re: So just why *are* all the e-wallets pulling out of Canada???
I'm cross-posting this from the legislation forum - It sucks that we can have a 3 page thread on this matter and still not have any real answers.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/03...ambling_china/ I have a feeling this whole thing with ewallets pulling out may have something to do with this article. To be honest I wish these natives would just let it rest and not attempt to take on the government on this issue - maybe it will lead to a regulated environment in Canada sooner than we'd like. Does anybody else think that this may be the reasoning behind several e-wallets pulling out of the Canadian market? It's certainly turning more and more public attention to the grey area that is online gambling in Canada. |

It's possible, I suppose, but this has been a pretty obscure item. I first heard about it a couple of months ago, but only because I often read the newspaper cover-to-cover...otherwise I'm sure I would have never heard about it. That being said, I've always been a little concerned that so many of the sites are run in Canada. It seems to me only a matter of time until someone starts raising a fuss about this. I think the only reason no one has yet is because they fear another Oka. Hopefully that fear continues to keeps the status quo in place. |
