both with 100bbs stacks, no reads on villain
Hero posts the small blind of $.50. Wisclax posts the big blind of $1. Hero: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pre-flop: Needbankroll2 folds. rowdyguy folds. WestOfSunset raises to $4. BlaketheflakE folds. Hero calls $3.50. Wisclax folds. Flop: (Pot: $9) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks. WestOfSunset bets $6. Hero ??? What is the better line here? If I call, what do I do if I face another bet on the turn? If I raise, what do I do on the turn if he calls me? thanks |

Against a total unknown I think folding 55 preflop out of position here is OK (Maybe I get flamed for this) and this hand shows why.
Against a known very-tight raiser we can call to play for set value. Against a known LAG (not maniac) we can perhaps 3bet. Against someone who we have some stats and postflop reads on we can probably call and play a flop. I don't think there is a good answer here. - Folding seems weak when you can have the best hand. - Raising inflates the pot with a marginal hand OOP if called - Calling and checking the turn may make your holding transparent and invite a second bet whether you are beat or not and even if you are ahead 95%+ of his range has 6 outs and you don't know which 6 they are. |

Yeah dnt fold this pf.
Don't raise here, it's a massive leak that loads of donkeys make. I might call flop as his range should be pretty wide, but really getting to showdown cheaply should be a concern. I fold the turn to aggression. |

[/ QUOTE ] I usually call here but I think I will get sucked out/bluffed a lot ... I know that raises "to see where I am at" are donkish, but in this type of situation I think I'd be raising to protect my hand, wouldn't I? |

No way I would fold PF, 55 is an implied odds hand I would fold to any aggression on the flop, this is a dif situation since 55 is hardly ever the top pair. If your gonna call, might as well raise instead IMO. If there were higher cards on board insta-fold

i would c/r flop or call flop in hopes of c/r a decent turn card and fold if he plays back at me.

Check-call flop, check-fold non 4 or 5 turn.
