I won't give em up until I either concede the pot or am shipped it.

As the dealer is pushing the pot, Player 1 demands to see Player 2's hand. Player 2 protests. I get called over. Player 1 insists that a player has to show his hand to win a pot and goes on and on about how he used to be dealer in Vegas and he knows the rules, blah, blah, blah. I explain that the other guy is the only player left and indeed he does not have to show. Player 1 just didn't understand. I got the old "You don't know what you're talking about...I DEALT IN VEGAS!!!" He made a real fool of himself.

I don't think I've ever seen a floor called over to rule on this, but I see this discussion once or twice a month (I see the event happen more often and usually the pot just gets pushed and nobody asks to see anything). A few dealers think the winner has to show, some dealers think they don't have to show, some think they have to show if someone asks. But nobody's ever been anal enough to demand a floor come make a ruling. I tend to go with "they have to show if someone asks" if the room allows IWTSTH--this is basically a showdown situation and anybody can ask to see the hands, even the winning hand. But if their cards are already mucked, they still get the pot.

[/ QUOTE ] you do understand that the other player didnt call the raise and has absolutely no grounds to claim the right to see the other players cards? or did i miss something?

Last time I bluff/mucked, the dealer (Trop AC) made the other person show their hand before she would push them the pot (middle pair, missed OESD) Well, best case I would have chopped.

I was kinda confusing OP's version and this one. In Op's everything was called. It was a showdown, and the aggressor instead of showing mucked his cards. Yeah, if things aren't called, obviously there is no IWTSTH. Just pretend my response was to OP's post.
