[ QUOTE ]
The reason why I thought that raise might work is that I play so very few hands (VP$ 17) that - usually - when I do raise, a lot of people fold. I was hoping to steal the pot. When he called, and I saw the two pair, I kind of thought: ha! Gotcha! And then everything went fuzzy and I went tilt [/ QUOTE ] I think the thought to steal the pot with your hand was OK, but you didn't steal it. Then you needed to make your hand (set) on the flop if you were to continue beyond a continuation bet, and you didn't. Worse, you were re-raised! I try not to think of myself having two pair when there is a pair on the board - you really don't. You have one pair up against someone else's possible one pair (pocket pair or 6) or trips. For what it is worth, with Performance Poker, you are suppose to limp or call a small PFR with small pocket pairs and get out if you don't make the set. As was said, at least you are posting and questioning what you are doing - that is the sign of someone that will learn and get better. Joe |
