You can't say that America is richer because America is richer.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't see why not.

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, of course you can say it. But presenting it like a report is a waste of paper and bandwidth. They could have written: "US GDP/capita is higher than EU's GDP/capita" and finished, instead they ramble on with a lot of nonsense.

Basically as America is the dominant world-culture there is not the same imperative to learn about other countries if you live in it as opposed to if you live outside it.

Anyone who has travelled the world knows that on average Americans display less knowledge of other cultures than other nationalities. This doesn't mean they are any more stupid than anyone else, it's just the way things work out.

I [censored] hate anyone in this thread that is criticising America. Your arguements are weak and completely unsubstantiated. Who cares if American's don't know much about European cultures? Why would they need to? Unless you work in a corporation which deals with international clients, it really doesn't matter.

I agree some American's are stupid and red-necks. What do you expect from a country as diverse and populated as ours. I'm sure I could go to the slums of any of your countries and find a few idiots as well. But you don't see me coming on a message board to announce that this European country is populated by idiots because of some heavily edited video that shows a few ignorant people. Why do you care?

Do you really think that a similar video couldn't be made on the streets of Britain, France, Spain, Australia? Not Canada, becuase those wiley bastards are too clever.

[/ QUOTE ]It would be harder. Study after study shows Americans to be more ignorant on the types of questions in that video than any other countries.

Only 13% of Americans could find Iraq on a map: http://archives.cnn.com/2002/EDUCATI...eography.quiz/

[/ QUOTE ]

No it would not. It would be very friggen easy to do this anywhere. And they cut people off during some of their responses. It's a joke so citizens of countries like Australia can feel better about having prime ministers who take orders from our president.

[/ QUOTE ]

what does cutting people off during some of their responses have anything to do with anything? You sound a little bit defensive. I mean as long as their answers are not misrepresented, which you can tell that many times when theres editing they still cut back to them to eventually show the total response. I'd be more concerned about these people acting like goofs on purpose (like possibly the chubby hispanic guy in the beginning).

No, it wouldn't be 'easy' to do this 'anywhere' else.

How does that mean they're not any more stupid? Is there another word for less educated? Oh yea, Ignorance.

KFC guy is the greatest.

I'm in the 87% of the world population who wouldn't be able to spot Iraq on a world map It's been 4 years since I studied the world map.

But then again, I also don't know the name of the street down the block from my house.

Less educated on what? European cultures? Once again, why does it matter if American's are educated on that unless they have a job dealing with international clients? I would be willing to bet my education far exceeds most Europeans on this message board. It prepares me for the field of work that I will be entering upon graduation, why would I waste time learning about anything else?
