Personally, I'd put Take That as #1, but its hard to argue with Beethover, Mozart, Elvis, or the Beatles.

Isn't it possible that there is some musician who is extremely famous in China but virtually unknown in the West?. As far as the Beatles and Elvis goes, I think they have certain generational appeal but are not so popular with people outside of the baby boom. Whereas some of the classical giants will be recognized by a much larger group of generations and cultures.

Hey I was drunk and trusted my friend that Take That was a big deal. And I guess they are pretty wellknown but I think I have to much trust in my friends [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
Its nice to see that noone is disputing MJ, but I guess its hard with that much sucess. I wonder if there is ever going to be artists that become as famous as the 3 I mentioned, since there are so many theese days. In order to get that famous nowadays u probably have to come up with a new genre of music or something.
