Anyone want to help me with a keeper league. We get to keep 8 players, for better or worse I already kept my first 5 (Santana, Halliday, Carpenter, Crawford, and Cabrera)

I now need to pick 3 out of: Atkins, Burrell, Delgado, Johjima, Carlos Lee, Rollins, Utley, and Michael Young.

I was thinking Utley, Lee and Rollins. Sound good?? Also, if my first 5 picks were stupid I could probably take them back.

[/ QUOTE ]

find a much deeper league.

i would throw back halladay (unless you mean holliday, who i'd keep) and take atkins, lee, rollins, utley.

how many teams are there, three? if not you're going to slaughter everyone by so much that it won't matter.

Crock-

thanks for doing this. Two questions:

1. I'm in a league where it's only pitching staffs, not individual pitchers. Just curious as to how you'd rank the overall staffs.

2. What do you think of Orlando Hudson this year?

thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

i know you've drafted already, but meh.

i'm tempted to rank the padres first among staffs. assuming 5x5, you want:

- winning record
- strikeouts
- NL
- few walks
- pitchers park

probably in that order. the padres seem like the best combo. cubs, yankees, red sox, twins, tigers, angels, cardinals, dodgers are all contenders.

as for hudson, he should be solid, second base is not deep at all and he's slated to hit second in a very good lineup. invest.

crockpot,

I am in a 15 team league, 5x5, with 2 C, so we have to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Who do you prefer M. Napoli or M. Montero?

Last year I kept two middle reliefers on the bench and threw them into my pitching rotation to help K, ERA and WHIP. ANd with the hope that one of them would become a closer. How would you rank the following based on these two needs (chance of becoming a closer, and value added to K,ERA,WHIP even if he does not become a closer): Proctor, Qualls, MacDougal, Rincon, Julio, Speier, Wilson (SF).

FInally would you rather add both Napoli and Montero (in addition to Barrett) so that I could ensure I get all the possible games played by the catcher (we can change the roster daily) or add one of the above MR?

Thanks

montero

julio, wilson, speier, rincon, macdougal. if ozzie ever makes it clear that macdougal is his number 2, he moves up the list.

depends on whether you're using the roster spot for anything useful. really, this plan just wouldn't be worth the time investment for me.

Anyone want to grade this drafted team? 10 team league, 6x6 roto style, start 6 pitchers, all spots + CI, MI, DH. 4th pick overall.
1. A-Rod, 3B
2. G. Sizemore, OF1
3. V. Martinez, C
4. A. Jones, OF2
5. J. Peavy, SP
6. B. Roberts, 2B
7. F. Hernandez, SP
8. D. Willis, SP
9. D. Young, OF3
10. C. Cordero, RP
11. T. Helton, 1B
12. C. Ray, RP
13. J. Peralta, SS
14. J. Francoeur, OF/DH
15. B. Arroyo, SP
16. C. Tracy, CI/3B
17. B. Crosby, MI/SS
18. A. Huff, Bench/1B
19. C. Crisp, Bench/OF
20. M. Prior, Bench/SP

I am looking at 3-4 free agents to replace Prior assuming he flops again. I also could add E. Byrnes or M. Ensberg to replace C. Crisp.

Keeper league, I am keeping 12.

Been offered Vernon and V.Mart for Utley. I am weak in the OF with only Beltran as my keeper, and I have Weeks behind Utley. Should I take the deal?
