$1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
I am confused how to play these kind of situations.
If I decide that I want to continue with the hand, I should push, but then I have actually given villain correct implied odds on the flop to chase his flush. If I fold to the raise, I am sometimes folding the best hand. In the low-buyins other hands than flush also very possible? Re: $1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
Fold preflop.
On the flop I'd just pot it with 4 others and a possible flush draw. Turn is tough, but at this level this can easily be 2 pair or a set. How has MP been playing so far? He has a healthy stack, so he must have done something. How did he double up? Did he see many flops, did he often bet or raise? W/o reads at this level I'd prolly puke and shove, make a note on the player, and open a new one. |

I fold preflop. As played, I like the flop bet. I would push the turn. The guys at low buy ins raise here with flush draw /pair combo , two pair and sets.

Re: $1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
Fold preflop why?
I might bet the pot on the flop, since you're up against four opponents. But this flop bet isn't bad; you're not giving away odds, and you really want action on this. I would either push or check/fold the turn, depending on my read on this player. I don't like the mini-bet. As played, I think there's a very good chance he's got a flush here. All chips will be going in here if any do, so you've got to put in 900 to win about 3000, or 3:1. If you think there's a > 33% chance he's got something other than a flush, then push. I think it's more like 10% (assuming a solid opponent), so I fold, and put my 900 in at a better spot. Blinds are still relatively low... |

Re: $1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
MP has not done anything special so far. He has not been overly aggressive so I assume he has something when he raises. He doubled up when he had TPGK (AJ) with his opponent having top pair+flush draw.
Does anyone like overbetting the flop? Make it 500 and then we can push the turn even if a club hits. If I bet 150 on the flop and then push the turn, the flush chaser is making a +EV call on the flop. |

Re: $1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
He's +EV only if you're guaranteed to push the turn. If you can fold here when he hits his 4:1 draw, then he's definitely -EV here. I like it as played. Plus you want action from losing hands, and you can't know he's on a flush draw when you bet out...

[ QUOTE ] Fold preflop why? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] There's no need to get frisky out of position with a marginal hand. in a $1.10, you will have plenty of other opportunities to take +EV situations. |

Pot odds are 8:1... that's not frisky, it's just sensible, no?

Re: $1.1 Straight, 3 clubs on board
Haha, the preflop call is fine. He's in the small blind and is getting 293874902:1 on the call... as long as he isn't going nuts with 1 pair on the flop, it's fine.
I'd pot the flop. The turn sucks sooo much, I def. think a flush draw is a big part of his range. However, I also think that enough random holdings are in his range in a $1 so that stacking off is probably fine. But since I'm willing to get in on the turn, I'm betting more than 1/2 pot. |
