Re: Longest Time You Have Gone Without Sleepage and Why...
I had Chicken Pox when I was 24. The pox were painful, not itchy. As a result, I was up for about 80 hrs., with half of that lying in an oatmeal bath.

Re: Longest Time You Have Gone Without Sleepage and Why...
I usually skip 1 or sometimes 2 nights a week. Just because. Sleeping=waste of time.(I have no job or school btw)
I admit I sometimes sleep 10-12hrs when I've been drunk (every week basically) so that makes up for some sleep. Longest time? skipping two nights = 60hours. reason? out partying in other town from fridaynight to sundayafternoon. (drugfree that time too btw, and now 20yo) |

does sleeping a lot less than you normally do cause you to lose weight - even though you are keeping yourself fed?

50 hours in 6th grade. Was with a friend the entire time. We played sports and stuff during the day time hours and lots of video games, music, and movies during the nights.
We then slept for like 14 hours of course. So stupid. |

[/ QUOTE ] I remember a study that showed that, in general, people who slept less were fatter than people who slept more. The hypothesis is that more hours awake leads to more hours to eat leads to fatty-time. |

Re: Longest Time You Have Gone Without Sleepage and Why...
I think it can, once you're really staying up a ton of hours. Not just overnight or something. Once you start getting into crazy hours, you have to hype up your metabolism to stay awake. Do lots of nervous movement, drink coffee, etc. You can't have a lazy, laid-back attitude without risking going to sleep. You need to get into your Type A personality mode, real real seriously. I'll often even do kneebends and the like. So when I've had times when I've stayed awake from Friday morning to Sunday night(plenty of casino weekends like that), I've definitely lost fat. Trouble is,I lose muscle too. But I do come out weighing less.
