My plan was to push on a non-diamond turn if he bets.
Maybe the better plan was to raise flop. Comments? I don't think I can fold this on the turn. I have no idea what villain's flop bet means. In all I think I screwed this hand up, even though I won the hand. No read on villain. 4-handed. Blinds $0.50 - $1.00 Hero has $100. Villain has hero covered. Villain raises to $4. Hero (K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]) raises to $12. SB/BB fold. Villain calls. Flop ($25.50) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain bets $12. Hero calls. Turn ($49) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain bets $40. Hero pushes for $78. Villain folds. |

You have to raise this flop.
And I think you are pushing in with ten outs. I fold turn to that bet. |

tbh I'm not sure who played this hand worse between the two of you.
Preflop is good. On the flop, his little half pot is many times a lone diamond looking to block and see a cheap turn. He's very likely to stack off here with the lone Ad, you need to raise here and raise hard. On the turn, you denied you the proper price to draw to a boat, and considering you can't even make a valid raise with your push, he'll never fold a decent diamond. Your push has very little FE here (despite results), and is no good. If he's got a draw, calling and pushing a blank turn isn't so great because he probably won't pay you off unless he hits. Also, if he had a hand like 444 or AA, that extra diamond will kill your action. |
