I posted a thread about this game in MSNL. I was in two minds about whether to play or not, and decided not to. Not because of the strange structure or the chance of getting cheated/robbed, but because of the brutal rake and because you could wait all day for a seat or for the game to start.

they cheat, 100%. not a good idea to play, especially when certain people are playing, which is most of the time. [/ QUOTE ] This serious? [ QUOTE ] As for the crookedness, my experience was fine. I acted like a gringo even though I speak perfect Spanish (Argentine), and saw no evidence of collusion. There seemed to be plenty of degens to make it a good game, though the no-max rake makes me still wonder about its beatability. [/ QUOTE ] Don't know who to believe here! [ QUOTE ] BTW, if you're a "fearless fil", shouldn't we be the ones worrying about you in the game? [/ QUOTE ] Depends if people are cheating or not |

Has anyone played in this game? I’m worried about being to only gringo at the table and getting cheated against. [/ QUOTE ] They have something similar here in Brazil. Horrible players, 5% rake uncapped. But the structure is the standard one with blinds. I understand you if you don't want to play there because of the structure or high rake, even though I'm sure you'll be profitable in this game. But it's just silly to think they'll cheat you cause your gringo. It's a casino as you said, not a home game. Who cares if they know each other. It's not like they're waiting for a gringo to come to steal his money. I've played with an american a couple of months ago in São Paulo and there was no problem at all. Especially when you consider that 99% of South Americans (brazilians at least) that go to casinos are part of the country's elite and are there because they have too much money and don't care to lose it. They play bad and are there to drink and have a good time. They're not there to cheat/collude to get a gringo's $300. Also, as you must imagine, South Americans's casino owners are not exactly 'good guys'. So you must know that people who cheat in their cassinos or try to (something that damages the casino's reputation) don't live for too long. |

The game is played on the casino ship docked at Puerto Madero. Its an amazing game if you cover the table and take advantage of the Argentine's horrible play of short and deep stacks. Remember that you cant raise in position to buy a free card because the last raiser is first to act on the next card. Playing tight against other deep stacks with a healthy bankroll the game is brutally easy.
They aren't cheating and everyone is really friendly. |

the fact that their aren't blinds isn't relevant, cos the ante structure is much bigger than any blinds. Everyone has an M of 5-6, and the only play preflop is to shove all in.
In a true game of no blinds/no antes, the optimal strategy would just be to wait for AA and no other hand. |
