Anyone know anything about towing capacities and such. Specifically can I tow a jetski and trailer with an 07 CRV? The towing capacity is 1500 and payload capacity is 1100 does that mean 1500 is inclusive of whats inside and payload is just what youre towing?
The jetski and trailer are ~1400 lbs |

The jetski and trailer are ~1400 lbs [/ QUOTE ] lol at vehicle towing capacity being less than the hitch capacity. You'll break your car's frame before you break the hitch. In any case, the towing capacity is just what you're towing, but you should count the tongue weight of the trailer against your 1100 payload limit. The stress vectors of the payload and towing are going to be orthogonal. EDIT: I have lots of experience with trailers, including such advanced topics as rewiring, backing, and parallel parking. |
