tptk live 5/10 - I do this sometimes
pretty good game, generally table is passive and straightforward except for villain's tendency to make over-raises preflop (like $70-$150 straight)
villain has direct position on me and is somewhat tanked, apparently he's a decent tourneydonk but he seems to suck pretty hard and from word of mouth called off 20% of his stack preflop w J9s the other night to suck out on AA. He's got around 3k and I cover. The limited history b/n me and villain has been me squeezing to $1400 w A2s in the bb after he made it $150 after losing a hand the hand before and got a call from a ridiculously loose player on the button and me previously squeezing with TT to $230 after I limped UTG and he raised to $70 and got 3 callers, he called, I cbet 3/4 pot on a Q84 flop, he called and I won at showdown after it got checked through. I raise $40 with Ac8c UTG, villain calls, 2 more players call. Flop 852r, one club. I check(?), villain bets $70, very straightforward player (raises made hands, calls with draws) calls, fold and I c/r to $300. Villain calls, the other guy drops Turn 2, I v-bet $500, call River T, I v-bet $800.and probably folding to a raise ----------------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure about how I played this hand regarding flop play and turn/river bet sizes. It seemed dirty to put in 160bb or something with a pair of 8s but it seemed dirty to v-bet less than 1/2 pot on the river too |

Re: tptk live 5/10 - I do this sometimes
I think I'm good and villain likes to check behind his medium-strength hands judging from my TT hand above
basically river was purely a ticket to valuetown but I'm not sure on the bet size or whether it's too thin, but I'm not playing anyone super sophisticated so I could feel pretty safe folding to a raise |
