Default NLHE Game With No Blinds in Buenos Aires

I just went to my local Casino in Buenos Aires for the first time and noticed saw they have a NLHE game there. The game wasn’t running at the time I was there but I spoke to the dealer.

It is a 1000 Peso buyin cash game with a 25 Peso ante and no blinds. The rake is 5% and uncapped.

Has anyone played in this game? I’m worried about being to only gringo at the table and getting cheated against. Also with the rake as it is I would imagine you need some very bad players in the game to make it +EV.

Also, what is the strategy for playing NLHE with no blinds? I’ve never played the game this way have no idea how it would work.

Prelfop: It's really a function of how many people are playing and whether you have a drawing hand or 99+.
Also, S&G strategies could prove usefull since you are effectively short stacked.
Fyi, this is a pretty hard game for a tag, but a a lag with good post flop skill should do ok.

I have played in local casinos in Venezuela. They are mostly Pot limit Hold`em. People are totaly maniac, capping almost on every street. They also charge 5% uncapped rake wich is very high especialy considering how loose these games play. On the other hand I was able to get into a couple of private cash games with the maniacs I have meet there and it has been very +EV.

It's 1000 Argentine Pesos so about $300, and I would imagine the stacks get allot deeper than that during the session.

My concern is with everyone at the table and the dealer knowing each other.

If you didn't know South America is famed for corruption.

here are your odds

50% chance u build a nice stack. lots of rebel south american railbirds eyeballing u. when u get up to leave a few follow you outside.

50% chance u lose, and still get followed outside.

i dont like it anymore

they cheat, 100%. not a good idea to play, especially when certain people are playing, which is most of the time.

When I played this game 2 years ago (May 2005) it also had screwed up position rules: whoever put in the last bet or raise in the previous round of betting was first-to-act on the next street. For example, on the flop, you're button, everyone checks to you, you bet, someone calls. You're first to act on the turn. I didn't know how to adjust.

As for the crookedness, my experience was fine. I acted like a gringo even though I speak perfect Spanish (Argentine), and saw no evidence of collusion. There seemed to be plenty of degens to make it a good game, though the no-max rake makes me still wonder about its beatability.

A good SNG/shortstacker should be able to do well. PF there is 225 pesos in the pot due to the 25 peso ante (9 handed) so buying in with 1000 and pushbotting optimally should be profitable.

BTW, if you're a "fearless fil", shouldn't we be the ones worrying about you in the game?

Translation: <font color="white"> In Argentine slang, fil means a sharp, a con man. </font>
