I once ate a philly cheese steak...in Chicago.

It might have said it was a Philly Cheesesteak, but the only good Philly Cheesesteaks come from Philly.

Best way to get all of the Philly area lurkers out is to put up a thread or poll asking who makes the best Cheesesteaks in Philly:

47% will say Geno's
47% will say Pat's
6% will be right and say Jim's

I'm sure there are a lot of people from Philly, they just don't mention it. People from NYC and LA will prattle on about it forever, but people from Philly pretty much realize that it is a sad joke of a city.

Philly has got the Eagles and cheesesteaks, but everything else about it is [censored] horrible.

[/ QUOTE ]

What city do you live in?

Philly is well kept secret on the national scene. Affordable housing, great culture and food, and an hour from the Borgata. I like living here a lot.

I think you are basing your opinions on a small sample size. Tell me what other activities you have done around town that sucked? Did the tour of Independence Hall suck? How about the Art Museum? Le Bec Fin...I'm sure that place sucked too.

Tony Luke's is pretty solid. I'm a fan of Pat's, though. Also, I think these percentages are way off. Way more people prefer Pat's over Geno's.

Also, is Jim's the one that's pretty close to St. Joes?

OMG DID SOMEONE SAY CHEESESTEAKS?

I'm from Philly and think Philly cheesesteaks are overrated, except for the rolls (assuming they use Amoroso).

No love for Delassandros? I haven't been there in a while, but I really liked the one I got there.
