I'll answer the questions you asked first based on play before the turn being left alone. I think that a lead on the turn is fine, but probably fold to other aggression unless the player is a maniac. If you bet the river it shouldn't be as a bluff. If you're trying to fold out any better hands other than maybe JJ and QQ then its a really bad idea. The check is pretty standard here though although you might be able to valuebet some people pretty thin at this limit, but I wouldn't be inclined to try it here.
Personally, I think that you need to repop it to about $2.50 preflop and go from there. |

I agree that I might repop this preflop. Hate the minraise and might get out a drawing hand. I like the way you played it, and I like the check on the river.
