Is drop shipping a good idea?

I've been an active ebay member for about 5 years but the market I was targeting has become flooded and the only other products I sell are too few and far between. I looked into drop shipping in the past but disregarded it because I was happy with what I was making at the time.
This seems like the best place to ask for any opinions, information or personal experience you guys may have (or had) with drop shippers. My main concern is that the people who are using drop shippers on ebay have a ton of products listed but the profit margin seems very slim, especially after ebay/paypal fees.

it's good if u find product(s) that u can source for cheaper than u can sell them for (after fees/etc)...if that profit margin is enough to make it 'worth ur time' then go for it

I guess posting useless links is not allowed. But if you believe that employing dropshipping for e-commerce (especially on ebay), think "Norfolk and Waay".
