Default Re: Why aren\'t the FTP pros ever playing?

some of them are really really bad at poker (sorry RB but this has to be said.) others play well/OK live but rely on physical tells/FR players and suck at LAGging up 6 max.

who cares, if people really want to railtard the reds there's usually some sort of 1K/2K game going on.

If they can't beat 5/10.... how the hell are they famous? Are you saying they got 2 lucky cashes?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think what he's saying is that they're famous for being live tournament specialists, not cash game players.

If I was running FT, or any poker site, I wouldn't waste my money paying B&M pros to wear my logo on TV. I would try to sign as many high stakes online cash players as possible who would actually want to play at the site on a regular basis. That's what would attract more online cash players and be the most efficient way to spend money on marketing.

Just look at what happens when a pro joins a low limit table on FT. All the recreational players want to play with the pro. I don't even know who the hell Paul Sexton is, but sometimes he plays $50NL, and the waiting list immediately has 30-40 people.

I agree/ for the amount of pros they have on the site there is only a few who play regularlly. Ferguson, Gordon, Lederer, bloch, are hardly seen at the tables.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ferguson plays freerolls and $1 tourneys all the time. I've seen gordon playing 50/100 LHE from time to time, but yeah...the other two dont play much.

I'd imagine that if they are playing poker, they're probably usually in a casino. *shrug*

Of the four you mentioned, Lederer owns a good chunk of the site and is probably busy on the business end, Ferguson also owns a chunk/is doing that $1 to 20K thing so I think he's hanging out in the microlimits, Gordon has 78034534898 things to do (but does play the big tourneys) and Bloch is in pretty much every big HORSE event ever.

[/ QUOTE ][censored] man if I owned a big chunk I'd make it so I could see other people's hole cards (or at least one of them) and play all the time. I'd even play near breakeven on purpose just for fun.
