Staring Out On To Grey (Fourth) Street. FT NL 100.
FT NL 100, 6-max, 6-handed
This hand was not played by me, nor my wife, but a friend who sought my analysis. Now I seek yours. Effective stacks $100. No reads, new opponent. In SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], three limpers in front, I complete, BB Checks, five to the flop. I fold this preflop, fwiw. Moving on. Flop ($4.80) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I bet $4, three folds, Button calls. Turn ($12) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Lead or check? Reasons for leading or checking? |

Lead bc a flush draw won't bet if you check.

Re: Staring Out On To Grey (Fourth) Street. FT NL 100.
Lots of weak hands and draws you dont really want to give a free card to (A5,45,56,77-TT, higher clubs), and these hands will check behind and rarely put more money into the pot unless they improve on river. I lead 7ish.
Now what was the raise? |

In this case no matter what comes on the river I'll have to think of it as pretty brick-like. If it comes a club I think we can value-block pretty succesfully. |

Now let's assume we lead turn, get called, river comes a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], we lead and get pushed. |

depends on how big the push is, right?
Lets say we lead for $10, get raised to $35 and call...the pot is $82 and we only have $60 in our stack. With this scenario, Im pushing any river, but now looking at the numbers I'd prob just push the turn. |

Re: Staring Out On To Grey (Fourth) Street. FT NL 100.
Alright, I've been drinking, so bear with me. Yea, its a Teusday. Someone at work was fired by the corporate office so we had a going-away party. Long story, not germaine...
Anyway. Like I said, no matter what comes on the river I have to consider it fairly brick-like. This is because of what kinds of hands are going to push against us if we bet the river. No matter what comes, if we bet & get pushed, we are almost always beat. If the river was a flush, how is a non-flush pushing here? If the river was off-suit, he almost certianly had either trips or a full house. When that's true there is only one hand we beat. Part of the reason why we bet the turnwas because we were deep enough to fod the river when we were beat. If we had fewer chips we'd end up putting money in bad & that's never a good thing. |
