Default Casino Arizona (CAZ) mid-limit games

Sorry for the uber-specific thread/question, but I know that several of you B&M forum regulars know the CAZ scene pretty well.

Basically I'm wondering how good the 20-40 and 40-80 limit games are...

While waiting for a seat at a 5- or 10-150 table recently, I decided to visit my old stomping grounds of 20-40 limit. I was only there for just over an hour, and strongly considered staying since I was up a rack and a half on a some very "normal" (ie. straight-forward) hands where the quality of the opponents' play was atrocious. I really couldn't understand it at all.

Obv. this is an anecdote and not a legit sample size, but this was two different tables (the feeder and the next must move) with different players over the 7-8 hands I played and the 45-50 I watched.

I sometimes forget how poorly people play limit because of how poorly they play spread/NL, but it made me wonder if I am missing out on anything on tables 31+.

Anyway, wanted to get this thread started... had another question which I'll post separately.

Like anything, it depends.

The games are good. But no where near as good as the commerce.

I disagree. I consider CAZ Commerce with a kill. The play is equally as bad and wild.

The comparison between 5-150 and 10-150 spead limits verses 20-40 and 40-80 limit is night and day. The limit games are clearly much larger. Ask yourself what would be a big win/loss in each game. As to which is softer the answer, like most, is it dedends. At some time during every day the 40-80 is a great game, with lots of action and many losing players, at some other time every day the game sucks, with little action and many great players.

Pick your game and it couldnt be better.

I have never played anywhere in LA so I can't compare, but I have a hard time believing that people anywhere are as bad as some of the CAZ regs.

OP, yes the games are great almost always, and if the game is not great sit out an hour and it will become great.

I also can't compare the mid-limit games to 5 or 10-150 because I never play them. There sure seems to be a lot of money on the new 10/150 tables though.

I have to get me back to Cali again soon.

btw: A good few, new regulars have shown up now that they don't have the online games available like they did. Some of them I wish would go away. If they all show up at once the 20 isn't as good as it was and is one of the reasons I'm playing the 40 more these days.

I have a love hate relationship with the 5-150. There are some good players, but for the most part the play is truly awful. Very interesting game indeed. I wonder if there is anyway we could rally all of the AZ poker players and get the state to allow NL cash games (god I miss NL cash)

The referendum passed a few years ago that allowed the extra slots and BJ won't allow it. We'd need a new one passed at a cost of a gabillion dollars.

btw: I'm one of the truly awful at 5-150. Look for me and win a car payment. I think I make the mistake that, like NL, I can get people to fold. I need to think again, I suppose.
