Re: AT turns trips, line check
By betting the turn you wont fold weaker aces and you'll charge possible flush draws to which you'll give a free card by checking.

Re: AT turns trips, line check
Is raising UTG standard here. I find I make this move maybe 60% of the time. But I seem to find that playing it OOP seemt to be -EV. Is this just too weak tight of a way of thinking?

Re: AT turns trips, line check
I think you should c/c sometimes and make a valuebet sometimes. I think the difference in equity here is negligible and it is always good to mix up your play. Neither in this particular position is much more +EV. If the villain is very aggro i like a c/c if he is passive I like a bet.

[/ QUOTE ] I think you pretty much have to c/f the river, because by then any bet villian makes (and I doubt he checks behind the river if he calls the turn bet) is putting you close to all in and I don't think we want our whole stack in jeopardy in this spot. [Edit: which is why I like a turn check and bet river if checked behind] |

Re: AT turns trips, line check
Now that I think about it some more, I like a check on the turn better. Villains will have a higher ace a good amount of time seeing as how it was raised pf, and you'll be committing yourself if you bet out on turn and river.
This is one hand where more information on the villain is necessary to proceed optimally. If he made a quick call on the pf and flop, I'm betting out on the turn. If he took a little while to call and he has solid stats... you get the idea. |
