Re: stop bagging on microsoft about the rumored xbox 360 update
I'm not sure what's more confusing - the hate or the fact that the hate is 100% based on an unsubstantiated rumor. Seems like some folks are just desperately seeking something to rag on microsoft about. In another thread, some guy mentioned he would never buy a 360 admitting it was "a prejudice with little reasoning" in his own words - although he was quick to bring this rumor up as some sort of validation of his prejudice. Re: stop bagging on microsoft about the rumored xbox 360 update
Astro,
Your list is far from complete - You can add the Snes, TurboGrafx-16, Genesis, Sega Master System, Atari 2600, Intellivision and Atari 5200 to your list. Not all added features (some like the SMS II removed them) and some were pretty much just cosmetic (Intellivision II). But you're right, releasing updated versions of consoles goes back to the earliest days... |

i was only listing fairly recent sony and nintendo stuff. i didn't include the snes or psone because i think they were basically cosmetic.

[ QUOTE ]
Consoles are not supposed to be like computers. You are not supposed to have to worry about a newer and better one coming out later. If you buy it at launch, you have it period. This isnt making it slimmer or making it top loading, this is offering a substantially better machine that launch and early buyers would have been interested in. I guess so many people are used to being [censored] over by companies, now that its starting up in video games people dont care, and even defend it. Between this and micro-transactions, video games are heading down a very bad path. [/ QUOTE ] While consoles shouldnt be like computers, its becoming quite obvious that this is the new trend in console gaming, maybe it shouldnt be this way but it is, i wouldnt be surprised if wii eventually made some big advances down the road(ie a wiimote with better responsiveness etc.) On another note I personally havent bought a 360 yet because i hate buying the first generation of a console because all the bugs are NEVER worked out. This has been a trend with any advanced console system. If i get rewarded with a better system later on because I am patient I think that is fine with me. |

Looks like it is the real deal.
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/20/hd...april-for-479/ No built in HD-DVD so basically it is just like the PS2 redesign. |

Re: stop bagging on microsoft about the rumored xbox 360 update
You were happy with what you got when you paid for it, why are you unhappy a year and a half later? What you got hasn't changed...
Would you rather have waited a year and half to get the new xbox? I got my 360 for free, and I'm kinda bummed they're coming out with a new one w/ a bigger hdd, but it's not gonna get me pissed at MS. I'll probably either sell my xbox or buy the bigger harddrive. I usually prefer to have the earlier revs of products like xboxes because they have the most opportunities for hacks. |
