Position in pot-limit hold\'em
I have two questions regarding position in pot-limit hold'em
1. Do you think that position is even more important in PL than NL? I constantly face a situation where player raises 2xbb from the button and I wake up with KK or QQ in the blinds. Since I can only make a pot-sized reraise to cut off their implied odds, original raiser can call profitably with (almost) any two cards if the stacks are big (>200bb). Of course I always raise big hands for value but this leads sometimes to very difficult post-flop situations. 2. Which is the best postion in short-handed table compared to bad players? I've heard that sitting behind the bad players is the best place but sometimes I think that it's just before the bad ones. This is because I play 5-max PL and when I'm having the button, bad players are in the blinds. Since bad players defend their blinds more eagerly, I get to play big pots against them in the best postion. In this scenario I also have good position on good players and it gives me more opportunities to stack TAGs with pocker pairs & suited connectors in raised pots. Does this make any sense? |

I prefer these players being on my right as opposed to my left. I will often be raising his limp to isolate him preflop. It's a profitable situation where you have control. |
