Default \'\'\'\'\'Big Arb through 5dimes\'\'\'\'\'

Apparently, the good folks over at 5dimes [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] didn't realize that the #2 seed is now gone from the Midwest bracket

under their props, at the bottom of the menu right now,
you can place a bet on #7248-any other seed (besides #1 and #2) wins Midwest Region at +435

Florida to win the Midwest is available at -240 or better with minimal line shopping (I got -230)

guess what? That covers all possibilities
-230 to +435 is HUGE

Arb is short for Arbitrage.

Check out the forum FAQ for details on what an Arb is as well as a ton more of good information...

thanks MT2R.

you're welcome

I was just doing my usual number-chugging on the props to see what I could find and I had to read that line about 5 times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

It's funny because 5dimes has Florida's odds to win the region listed about 5 lines above. I cannot realize they don't know that those two odds should be exactly the same as they are exactly the same bet with the Badgers gone.

Good times.

I have a question about cancelling bets by the way. I was in mexico for the past 7 days, didnt do much betting but one day I found a clear mistake at betcris. I was checking the alternate lines that that create for games. The line for georgia was -10.5 -110. Then they also had -16.5 +230 and the opponent was +16.5 -250 (these are just estimates that Im remembering off the top of my head). They also had the line -4.5 +240 and then opponent +4.5 +235 (again estimates). Well I put a pretty large wager on -4.5 +240, which was obviously an incorrect line. The wager was cancelled after the game. Was this stupid of me? If I would have lost, Im guessing they would have taken the money? Would an arb have worked? Thanks guys.

Rush,

Most books will always cancel "obviously incorrect lines". If you see something like +240 when its supposed to be -240, odds are very high that its not going to go through.

This one is a little more marginal, but as TheRover says is still likely to get canceled.

Best choice is usually to sit on the +EV line, and then arb later if the line sticks. Real dangerous to try an arb with a line that has a high likelihood of getting canceled... you'll obv be exposed on the other side
