Default JW Marriott near Summerlin

My firm just signed us up for a corp. rate out there so I'm "supposed" to stay there every time I go to vegas now...its a nice enough place, but a LONG way from the strip rooms...I've heard there are two casino's very close (one attached but not "part" of the Marriott" and one about a half mile away...I know the one attached does not have a poker room and I don't know the name of the other...does anyone know the name of this place, and whether it has a room? Thanks...

Rampart Casino. Attached to J.W.

Poker room closed in December 2001 (It was called the Regent then).

Real close by (in a car) is the Suncoast. They have a poker room but they struggle to keep games going at times.

A few miles on down the road is Red Rock. A very popular poker room.

Best Wishes

Howard

How was the hotel? Looks nice enough when I've drove by but I'm always curious to hear from someone who's stayed...

Yup. I "forgot" about the firm policy last time and stayed at the Bellagio...the rate at the Bell was actually better so I didn't catch any heat...this time the JW is cheaper...I've got a car...so if I don't have to work too late I'll likely make the drive in at least one night.

Its actually quite fast if you take the highway - Take Summerlin Parkway east to 95, 95 to the 15 South. Get off when you see your favorite casino in the skyline. 10 mins at most without traffic going 60mph.
