Co 3bet response quiz...
Typical .5/1 game, 6max, effective 100BB stacks.
It is folded to you in the cutoff you bet $4, the button 3bets to $15. Villain is known for taking advantage of position and protecting his button (ie. expanding his range from the standard AA-JJ,AK-AQ that most players have). The blinds fold. You haven't played a 3bet flop versus villain yet. What do you do with the following preflop: 1) 77 2) AQ (offsuit) 3) AT (suited) 4) JJ 5) 87 (suited) 6) KQ (offsuit) 7) QJ (offsuit) 8) QJ (suited) 9) AJ (offsuit) 10) KJ (suited) |

Re: Co 3bet response quiz...
I shove JJ and fold the rest. Maybe shove AQ. If he does it to me a lot I'm gonna start shoving a wider range.

Re: Co 3bet response quiz...
I call with JJ and possibly 4bet AQ. Fold the rest.

Re: Co 3bet response quiz...
I'd fold everything on the list. If I've been playing for a while, and he hasn't done this to me yet, I'd rather lose $4 than go to war with junk. If this weakness induces him to try it repeatedly, then I know that he's probably light and I reraise accordingly. On this hand, I'd just be guessing.

Re: Co 3bet response quiz...
1) 77 - fold
2) AQ (offsuit) -call and checkraise nearly any flop <--He won't mess with me anymore if I do that. 3) AT (suited) -fold 4) JJ -call 5) 87 (suited) -fold 6) KQ (offsuit) -fold 7) QJ (offsuit) -fold 8) QJ (suited) -fold 9) AJ (offsuit) -fold 10) KJ (suited) -fold |

2) AQ (offsuit) -call and checkraise nearly any flop <--He won't mess with me anymore if I do that. [/ QUOTE ] This makes no sense imo. If call/cr any flop were the plan, then you should be calling with every hand on the list. |

Re: Co 3bet response quiz...
I 4-bet 1,2,4 and sometimes 6 (probably not if its offsuit). I fold the rest.

Besides using it as a bluff, you flop the best hand more often and are more comfortable stacking with AQ than with anything else (except JJ). I call JJ and fold anything else if he isn't 3-betting too light (= no history me vs. him). |
