Why do most poker Tv shows have commercials about every 5 minutes?

I assume it has something to do with the difference between rights buy or time buy programs but what idiot thinks this is somehow good for Tv poker? When I watch the WPT, PPT or the WSOP, those commercials are more spread out(even though all the poker shows are all about the same 43 minutes long per hour; if you don't count the commercials). I assume the above shows are rights buy shows.

I hate taping and editing out the commercials from Poker After Dark and all the Sportsnet poker shows because of those annoying commercials every 5 minutes or so.

Do all of the Fox Sportsnet's shows have commercials every 5 minutes or is it just designed this way for their poker shows?

Even though it's on at 2am, why wouldn't a major network like NBC broadcast P.A.Dark the same way it does all it's shows, with it's commercials more spread out?

Why can't they butcher golf or tennis this way and leave poker alone!!!

high stakes poker also has a ton of commercials and its on a network where you have to pay extra for so i don't get the reasoning behind that.

All TV shows are chock full of commercials and I find it unbearable. DVR has been my savior, I don't watch anything live anymore.
