I could have sworn that the Lemay casino got voted down

[/ QUOTE ]

The whole thing was news to me. I'm really excited to hear about this Casino in Lemay. I did some quick Googling, the only current information I could find was a report in St. Louis Business Journal about the reported 4th Quarter Loss by Pinnacle, in part because of construction of their new casinos. Sounds like the Lemay Casino construction is at least going forward. I'm less excited by the fact there seems to be a handful of 2+2ers in the South St. Louis area. Thanks for the link, here is a article I found at STLtoday.

"Lemay road deal awaits Bush's pen

03/16/2007

A property switch to enable construction of a new four-lane road in Lemay — which backers say will help emergency personnel and create access to a new casino — now awaits the signature of President George W. Bush.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, passed the House last month and the Senate late Tuesday night by unanimous consent. It shifts responsibility for 0.3 acres of land needed for the project to St. Louis County from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The bill also makes the county government, not FEMA, liable for any future flood damage that the project causes. The land — which sits in a flood plain — will be ineligible for any federal disaster assistance.

Pinnacle Entertainment Corp., the company building the new casino in Lemay, will finance the $20 million project."

I know that one is right downtown and is going to run the President out of business.

I believe that Pinnacle bought the president and this is replacing it.

I am pretty pumped to see them open. I know that one is right downtown and is going to run the President out of business. The other one is in south county somewhere, I am not too sure where. Does anyone know the opening dates of the two? The one downtown should be open this year sometime, but I'm not too sure when. I would love to hear some serious details from people in the know. I am just pumped there is going to be some more B&M in Stl. I usually make the drive from columbia 3 times a week to play at harrahs.

Is it worth driving all the way to STL when you can drive 20 minutes to Isle of Capri? What makes it better? Lower rake? Table selection? I'm interested because I might start making the trip more often.

if you have time on your hands game selection is so much better in stl. The isle spreads 1/2 sometimes but from my experience it is usually VERY nitty except on weekends (sometimes) Their 2/5 game is very soft though. Most of the regs. are ABC and there are always a couple fish in there.

I all in all, game selection and overall experience is greater in stl. I take shots at 2/5 very rarely but I dont want to go out there to have a 1/2 game break 30 mins after I get there. overall game selection is better and you can always count on a game there. The 2/5 there is also just as, if not more fishy
