Back when I was king of online MTTs when that was all I played I kept way too much money online. One night in Vegas I got real stoned and decided it was a good idea to take a shot at 50-100 PLO on UB. First night I played like half an hour and won like 6k and vowed not to do that again.

Next night I smoked even more and took a xanax and jumped back in the game. 80k later I was basically broke.

edit: so yeah I have a gambling problem.

This also reminds me of my first time in a casino. I was 19 and had a 3k roll from playing 1-2 NL live in private games. We went to Tunica with my fake ID and I went straight to the Blackjack table to martingale it up. I lost the first 11 hands and my entire bankroll. I left Tunica immediately and that was the worst 4 1/2 hour drive home ever.

however BEING on tilt is the key. if you lose 10% playing well above ur head (which should be the case if you lose 10% of ur net worth) thats fine. im talking playing like a donkey and then feeling miserable about if for days.

i've been playing like a donkey for like the past year.

I started off playing well that session too. Then a guy called my ~6500 push into a 7k pot on the river of a 3 flush flop, brick brick board with 2 pair and I lost it. The rest is kind of a blur.

The 80k thing was March or April of last year.

Financially I recovered fairly quickly, but mentally it weighed on me for a long time for several reasons.

Yes, it was mental hell for a while.

Does losing 15% of your poker bankroll playing BJ on tilt qualify ? I had a bad day 1 1/2 year ago playing 30/60 limit and ended up tilting more at BJ. I felt bad for like 2-3 weeks...

its pretty easy to lose 10% of your roll even when theoretically properly bankrolled. with a 300BB roll if you lose 30bets in a game thats 10%. with a 20 buyin NL roll if you lose 2 buyins thats 10%.

ive probably had a 10% bankroll downswing in 1 day a half dozen times. fortunately its been a while cause my bankroll be balla nowz ;D
