3-bet and shove the turn [/ QUOTE ] qft...... if you call he will likely check behind on the turn. IMO hes only calling your 4 bet on the flop if hes on a draw. Dont shove flush turn!!!!! but I make a crying call! |

Bad play. This pot is tiny, and we want to build it up so that when we do shove, villian has already put in a bunch of his stack and will call with anything. Sure, he minraised and must like his hand, but he only has .50 invested (less than 10% of his stack) and can still walk away). For the same reasons you don't shove KK or AA after a preflop raise, just raise him again and get in it later.

I 3-bet shoved the flop... discuss. [/ QUOTE ] Depends on how you've played before I think, but even if it's against a random guy for slightly more than a half stack it's hardly a seriously error supposing he calls with TP type hands even though playing the turn might give you slightly more value. You've prob got him crushed so I think it's alright just to put money in and hope he decides to call. EDIT: By not a serious error I don't mean best and default play. |

it's hardly a seriously error [/ QUOTE ] I think it is a serious error. We are going to win this pot, sure, but shoving flop gives up soooooo much value that playing normally (3-betting) will capture. You don't have to lose a pot to make a serious error. This is like getting raised 4BB's preflop and shoving aces. We give up too much value, it's a bad play. |

[/ QUOTE ] What I mean is that hands he calls a flop 3-bet with he will call an overbet with a decent amount of the time. My range for calling a 3-bet and calling an overbet is pretty similar with these stacks I think. Of course you don't have to lose a pot to make an error. |

Doesn't 3-betting here kinda declare that I'm playing for stacks, no matter what sane amount I make it?
I was thinking an overbet shove looks more like a draw on this board, and is more likely to get called by top pair kind of hands. |
