Default 600nl - bottom set 200bb deep

Villian is preposterous. He runs at 24/18/1.7. I don't have too much history with him. He seems reasonable.

River: ($739) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $894.65 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $1633.65

I usually 3-bet the flop here, but decided against it because I planned to weak lead a non flush turn card in the hopes to get bluffed raised. In retrospect, this was a poor plan vs this opponent.

What are everyone's thoughts on the river?

Reasonably obvious fold, you beat nothing on the river.

Three betting the flop is a much better idea.

If you don't three bet the flop, make the turn bet bigger, closer to $250.

Not to be a ballbreaker, but you are about 145xBB deep.

lol, disregard the post title. I was playing mostly 400nl at the time os the stack sizes threw me off. I hate my flop call even more now.

I actually thought the same, that you might have been thinking in 400 NL terms. Your flop call isn't hate-worthy, it's fine if you successfully apply the line you mentioned above. If your real question is the river, then folding is a good decision.

3 bet the flop. Bet more on the turn. You can fold this river.

I dislike your line but as played I think folding is good.
