in general
quick question for the regs of this forum... i usually play 100 nl /200nl and have found the small stakes forums give heaps of bad advice and countless useless responses to posts. as a whole, there seems to be a bit more sincerity and knowledge in this forum. my one concern is that the style of play is drastically different between 100nl and 600nl, thus differing advice will be given that wont apply to the limits i play. in your opinion(s) would i be too far out of line sticking to this forum for info - thx in advance

Re: in general
if you play 100/200 nl you aren't too good for ssnl. there's a lot of quality advice in that forum.
read here too, focusing on the thought process instead of the decisions; as you point out the players play differently, which means the ranges involved are a little different, so if you go straight to reading the decision someone advocates without understanding why you might misapply something. having recently moved from 200nl to 400nl, I don;t think the play is *that* different; definitely more aggressive on average and people make smarter bluffs, challenge your dumb bluffs more. But the play is not so different that you can't help your game reading here. |

Re: in general
i think the biggest jumps are .5/1 to 1/2... 1/2 to 2/4 and 5/10 to 10/20.
I remember I used to play NL $100 or NL $200 and always lurk the HSNL forum when it was good like 9 months ago. Hearing the smart people talking about raising and then folding FLUSHES on the river helped my game astronomically. |

Re: in general
I thought 3/6 to 5/10 was pretty big, but 5/10 to 10/20 plays totally different as well.

Re: in general
My life time winrate at 1/2 is lower then at 2/4, I base this mostly upon reading MSNL forums :P
