Common Mistakes
Let's use this thread to compile a list of common mistakes that people make when working out. This thread could have major benefits for beginners or even experienced lifters who have developed bad habits. This can have to do with anything from diet to workout plan to technique.
I'll start: Make sure you include all parts of your body in a workout plan. People often neglect to workout their legs, or back for instance. Your body needs to grow in balanced proportions. |

compound is better than isolation...and do your compound lifts first...

Focus on whatever you are trying to improve on by placing it first in your cycle and first in your workouts.

Doing too many exercises leading to overtraining
Not eating enough, eating the wrong foods. Using machines instead of free weights Bad form on exercises Not warming up correctly |

Common mistake: not listening to your body. Take that day of rest because without it you could be putting yourself in jeopardy to miss more than just one day of exercise. In a similar vein, a cheat day isn't bad.

Drinking alcohol/ partying using drugs not gettnig enough sleep the night of your work out.
