I have a love/hate relationship with Best Buy.

I'm gadget freak, so I go in there a bunch. I hate the way they give you the hard sell on the service plan, along with asking you 1,569 other questions when all I'm trying to do is buy something.

Would you like to buy the service plan?
No.
May I ask why?
Because the 'service plan' is the biggest consumer rip-off ever.
[blank look from zit faced 17-year-old kid]
Um... Can I have you phone number?
No.
[blank look]
Um...
Will you be using your Best Buy rewards card today?
No.
Do you have a Best Buy rewards card?
No.
Would you be interested in applying for a Best Buy rewards card? It's free.
No.
Would you like to sign up for 3 free issues of Entertainment magazine?
No. Just shut the [censored] up and take my money FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

Yahoo! has a very good finance page and it's sports scores are generally the fastest out there (even faster than ESPN insiders which you had to pay for).

BTW... [censored] Ebay as well. Increased fees have just about destroyed the near free products I used to be able to get off of there. There was an interesting show on CNBC of how they royally screwed their top sellers and it happens every year. More and more are leaving.

Ebay also was a big supporter of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. They suck.

Walmart, they do a wonderful job of going into nice little towns and making all their stores go out of business.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude their stuff is cheap.

[/ QUOTE ]

Very cheap. Downright crap actually. Since most of it is made from the cheapest materials and made with the cheapest labor in China, that's what you get.

[/ QUOTE ]

If people are willing switching to Walmart when they come to town, the people must be better off, or else they would keep paying higher prices for supposedly better products at the smaller stores they used before Walmart got there.

the dmv. its the only place i know that doesn't accept its OWN issued license as a form of valid identification

What DMV doesn't accept its license/ID as a valid ID? I know when I get a new license, I have to bring my SS card too, cause I don't have my SS on my license. But the states I've lived in - OH, IN - accept their licenses as ID. I do know that when I had my license temporarily suspended, I had to bring birth certificate, photo ID, SS card to get it back. But that's different.

I love them because they've figured out how to charge so frickin' much for coffee.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huge amount of caffeine -> addiction. I love Starbucks, myself.

I used to work in a laptop reseller. Based on that experience I swear I'll never do business with Acer or Fujitsu.

Hollister, the clothes they market towards young teenage women is disgusting.

Walmart, obvious from what other posters have put in this thread. I could go on more, but let's not get turn this into a politics thread.

Apple, I just don't care for their "hip" products.

General Motors, good job trying to kill the electric car you archaic boobs.

There are others but those are the first ones off the top of my head.

Have you ever thought why that is?

It sure isn't because they want you to get a good deal and save money. It's because they undercut everyone with volume.
