Rather than argue, before I turned my chat off I would just say "sorry, it's my first time playing". Just end it.

MyIronThumb -

Arguing with people in chat is a waste of time. It can be fun, but it really just makes them try their best or leave most of the time - neither of which are good. Did you really think some random idiot at an online table was just going to give you $100?

You played the hand fine btw.

I usually just ignore the chat... but sometimes I give the berator exactly what he is looking for.

I'm not clear on the parameters of the bet. At first he offers to bet you "100 quid," which would be either British or Australian currency. Later he agrees to the bet for "100 bucks," which is U.S. currency. So, I don't get it, how much does he still owe you?
By the way, I usually turn the chat off. I find it can be too distracting.

I wasn't berating him for a bad play though, which is obviously wrong to do to fish because it makes them think twice about how they play. The argument with him was just over a $100 bet about how a hand played out. I said I led into him and he claimed he check raised me. So this isn't going to make the fish get better?

Yeh at first he said 100 quid, thats why I said $200. But then he said $100. Either way it doest really matter. I was just a bit miffed at the time, but it was silly of me to think he would have paid anyway.

I'd like to end the thread now cos people will think I am an idiot(which I don't think I am), or a bad player(which I could quite possible be, lol)
