Too long, I just skimmed it, and have one comment: you didn't mention pot size anywhere. It's one thing to fold to a turn c/r from a passive-ish player in a 3BB pot...something completely different if the pot is 5, 7 or 10 bets.

yeh, was trying to keep it abstract, but i was too abstract. comments from folks above about equity are spot on, as is this (in some ways it's the same point said different ways).

I think your observation that some begninners dont tilt in the sense we normally think of it is spot on. I've noticed a lot of TAGs (or at least players appearing to be TAGs) be forced into a weak-tight pattern of play. I remember being one of those myself, but after playing, reading, playing, reading, playing, reading I'm hardly ever tilting or going into weak-tight mode anymore.

I guess its all about feeling comfortable and confident that you're able to make the correct decisions in most situations.
