well, Jimmy's new clothes are bought, and if he'll just wear anything but that same ole green shirt or the tie-dye t-shirts, I'll be happy. And so will yuv. And probably PokerStars, lol.

I've come to the conclusion that some people just like to complain. Given the alternatives, capping the entries, playing shorter levels, or playing crazy long nights I love the decision to add 1 extra day at the end. 6-10 people (all of whom will be much wealthier) will need to change their plans and the rest of us get an extra nights stay for free. Once again I think Stars has come through with flying colours. I think I might use the extra day to rent a car and drive into Italy before coming home. ANd if I screw up and happen to be playing the final table I'll have to take my winnings and use them to plan a return trip.

My suggestion for those that are unhappy is just to stay home and keep the spending money and leave an empty seat at the tournament. That will send stars a message and for sure they'll get it right next year.

No offense, David, but that is bullcrap. The extra day means I am missing the equal of xmas eve or thanks giving dinner for you guys. Obviously I don't have to stay for the FT, but it still sucks.

I am sure he can afford nice clothes after Australia.

[/ QUOTE ]

FWIW, he had nice clothes packed BEFORE Australia, but a 19 yr. old wears what he wants to wear. Apparently he was concentrating on other things than his clothing choice, which turned out to be a better decision IMO. Priorities, ya know? I really don't care if he shows up in a sack, (which he won't if it's not tie-dyed) , as long as he is happy about how his playing is going.

Yuv, I'm sorry about the troublesome added day. I wish it could be different for you.

the hotel is about a half a mile from the casino. The tournament will
be held at the hotel itself. There is really no need to go to the casino
at all, unless you just want to visit, of piss away your poker winnings
at craps and baccarat.

Again, if you have to stay that extra day you're taking home at least a mid-six-figure paycheck. I'd stab Santa with the turkey wishbown from Thanksgiving to be in that position.

On a more serious note, yours is the most legitimate complaint I've heard so far about this. On the one hand, I want to say I hope it doesn't become a problem for you, but that comes a bit close to wishing you bad luck in the tourney which doesn't feel right either.

David, I agree that poker players like to complain no matter what, but this kind of change merits some amount of it...People are flying great distances to attend this event, re-arranging their lives, and it's reasonable to expect the dates posted in advance are accurate.

No one gets to enjoy a free night, since doing so involves changing one's flight, which is costly. Now, I've already said that I think Stars has rectified this adequately, but unless they are willing to pay for the flight changes of everyone who wants to stay for the final table (which I guess they are?), it's a pain in the ass.

Also, I do not quite understand how adding a day to the tourney accommodates more players unless the extra day is another starting flight. It will merely shorten the amount of time we play each day.
