£100NL - PFR C/R\'s me - WTF?
This guy probably plays 70k hands / month, but from what I've seen, I'm not impressed.
He's 25/6/2.3 over 1100 hands. Cbets 40%. Apparently checkraises 5.7% after a PFR. But he only C/R five times in those 1100 hands. (of course, I didn't know this during the hand) Since I couldn't figure out what the hell he was thinking, I thought there was a big chance he was full of it, and decided to look him up. Cryptologic No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $97.50 UTG+1: $98 CO: $99 Hero: $146.25 SB: $117.50 BB: $63.17 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $4, CO folds, Hero calls, 2 folds. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($9.5, 2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $8, UTG+1 raises to $16, Hero raises to $48, UTG+1 raises all-in $94, Hero folds. What do you think of his move? My move? What if I have a real hand here? What's he trying to do? Thx. |

How about calling (the first min raise) and doing the same on the turn?

I think I know who this is and they are bad. He's saying, lol I have AJ. I would fold to the c/min raise. Villain likely checks the flop thinking you can't call with anything worse and then gets excited when you bet.

I would fold to the check miniraise unless I knew why he was doing it.
I think his move is a weird line so something to only do very occasionally, personally I dont like it (I would neither do this is I was bluffing nor value betting). I think your move is worse because he is trying to lure you into putting more money in the pot which you do. I dont really think he is thinking about your hand so you arent pushing him off with a big raise. Also you have no redraws. If you have a real(ly good) hand Im almost tempted to do something stupid back like raise him to 32 given the board isnt drawy. btw I would remove the "UTG+1 raises all-in $94, Hero folds" part since it probably makes the posts more results orientated. |
